Upcoming World Boss Update on April 15th

Published:Apr 9. From:harriet 0
gw2

A lot of changes including a complete overhaul to the World Boss system, timers and mechanics will come along with the Feature Pack update. The world bosses will be put onto a rigid schedule in the next update so that - while map instances will constantly change due to the Megaserver system - players will always be able to access this content. In order to get you well prepared for the release, we would like to show you all relevant information on these World Boss updates. How and Why It Is Changing  Due to the Megaserver changes there was an issue on how World Bosses began and completed. Some bosses sat about for eternity and waited for players to initiate them while others never finished until players went out of their way to kill them. That was an issue for a new server system that was designed to make and close new instances of maps at any time. This caused timers to become completely pointless as it was practically impossible to keep a constant track of these constantly shifting maps. The new changes put in place are designed to put the World Bosses on a rigid track of time. No matter what server or map instance you are on there will always be a set time for a boss to spawn. This makes it easier for people who happen to be in the area to stumble upon some new boss but also allows people out of the map to instantly travel over when that timer hits. It is important to note that this means there are some serious changes to the mechanics of some of these bosses. Taidha Covington, for instance, doesn’t require the long amount of Dynamic Events in order to get her to spawn and fight. She will just simply show up at her designated time. On the other hand events like Modniir Ulgoth now have a failure timer. If you want to get your daily events done you will have to be there on time and ready to get right to killing the boss. The Times  The Karka Queen, Tequatl and Great Jungle Wurm will now be centered on the prime times of the various regions: Karka Queen will begin at 3:30 AM, 9:00 AM and 6 PM PST.Tequatl will begin at 4:30 AM, 10 AM and 7 PM PST.Great Jungle Wurm will begin at 5:30 AM, 11 AM and 8 PM PST. Megadestroyer, The Shatterer, Modniir Ulgoth, Golem Mark II, Claw of Jormag, Taidha Covington and “TBD” will be staggered over a, roughly, five hour rotation. One of these events will always begin at :00 or :30 every hour. The Jungle Wurm, Shadow Behemoth, Svaniir Shaman and Fire Elemental will be spread out over an hour and a half rotation. One of these events will always begin at :15 or :45 every hour.It is interesting to note that you can get each of these daily events done over the course of about four hours every day. If you begin with the Megadestroyer event and end with Taidha Covington the time blocks to get every event done one after another are as follows: 4:00 PM PST – 8:30 PM PST2:30 AM PST – 7:00 AM PST7:30 AM PST – 12:00 PM PST Guild World Events It isn’t hard to imagine that some of these times won’t work for some people and guilds or that you maybe want to take on a World Boss more often. A new guild upgrade has been made available to allow guilds the ability to spawn these bosses at almost any time. At the cost of some influence and merits, a guild can begin a boss encounter at any time so long as it isn’t too close to when the event was about to normally begin. It’s important to note that the guild won’t be awarded with any merits or commendations at this point. The developer designs this feature only to allow players the ability to claim rewards and achievements on a schedule closer to their own preferences. Guilds will have to do missions to make up the cost for this new feature.

Six Best Food Buffs to be Tough Stuff

Published:Apr 4. From:harriet 0
gw2

Here we list the top 6 foods which can be used in Guild Wars 2. They can meet players’ needs in different aspects of gameplay ranging from normal PvE to hardcore WvW. You’d better carry the right food into the situations listed so you are never caught struggling. See below to know about the six kinds of food. Bowl of Curry Butternut Squash Soup  Thirty Minute Duration+100 Precision+10% Critical Damage This food is absolutely great for general PvE and especially if you need to do some map completion. The hard damage boost to critical chance (through precision) and critical damage allows you cut through most mobs with no issue. Even if you build yourself with high defense or condition damage using this for map completion is almost a necessity to get it done swiftly. Bowl of Orrian Truffle and Meat Stew  Thirty Minute Duration100% chance to gain might when you dodge.+40% to your Endurance refill rate. If you were part of the Prime Hologram boss fight, the Twisted Marionette world boss or even just doing Crucible of Eternity you know that dodging is essential. This food is great to make sure you are never hit with those one-shot kill attacks and even give increased damage every time you do dodge. Use this during Fractals, heavily telegraphed boss events like Subject Alpha and Mai Trinn, or during WvW to give you a bit more survivability. Bowl of Truffle Risotto  Thirty Minute Duration+100 Condition Damage+70 Precision Sometimes you need condition damage to cut through certain bosses or for WvW. This food is for those times when you expect that your conditions won’t stick long and you need to load you damage onto the beginning ticks of your conditions. The added precision is to make sure any non-condition damage you deal may critical hit for an extra boost of damage and tends to synergize well with traits. Plate of Orrian Steak Frittes  Thirty Minute Duration+100 Power+70 Vitality World bosses and structures can’t be damaged with critical hits and condition damage is just too slow. It is also a great staple for Soldier stat builds during WvW fights. You can’t go wrong with this food in most situations. Rare Veggie Pizza  Thirty Minute Duration+40% Condition Duration+70 Condition Damage This food is used almost exclusively in long fractals, dungeons or world bosses by condition specialized characters. Use this when you know the fight is going to last a long time so that you can get more ticks of damage out of your many conditions. It can also be used in solo PvE gameplay by kiting your enemies and just let your long conditions kill them off. Slice of Candied Dragon Roll  Twenty Minute Duration66% chance to steal life on critical.+70 Precision An amazing food that really shines in weapons that attack fast. The cooldown on the life steal is only one second and steals 320+ health on that chance. This food is almost required in high tier fractals and can help during fights with Jormag and Tequatl. Source: guildwars2hub.com

Guild Wars 2 to Receive a New Playable Race Named Tengu

Published:Apr 3. From:harriet 0
gw2

Guild Wars 2 will receive a new patch named Rise of the Tengu soon. A new race named Tengu will be introduced along with the patch. In addition, it will add a new weapon set, increased level cap, two new zones and some other new content to the game. This expansion will fully feature the Tengu race and show all the trials they have faced within the Dominion of Winds and in their home map the Aerie. While no date has been set it has been announced that we can expect to see it sometime before the next year. To access the new content players will be required to pay for the new expansion through retailers or straight from ArenaNet. We have been told that the expansion will bring “release-like content” and therefor will be priced about the same as Guild Wars 2 when it was first released. There has been no mention if this expansion will be purchasable through the gemstore. To unlock the new Tengu race players will have to enter the Aerie, home of the Tengu, and participate in a special Living World release that is only available to players who purchase the expansion. These events will span over two to three months as players earn the trust of the Tengu by aiding them with the threats they have been facing. After these events participating players will be given a special character slot unlock that allows players to choose the Tengu race. More of these character slots can be purchased for double the price of a normal character slot but only by those who have participated in the Living World events.  The Dominions of Winds will become a level 90 zone for players to explore after purchasing the new content. Players will only be able to freely traverse this new zone after participating in the Living World events otherwise the Tengu will attack the player on sight for infiltrating their lands. This zone will feature more Destroyer creatures as well as some assault from the underwater Dragon. Finally players will be able to find all new crafting materials that will be used exclusively for crafting of the new Tengu armor, weaponry and Ascended Trinkets and Foods. More information about the new race will be definitely released soon. We will keep you guys updated once we get any new information.

Make Predictions on Guild Wars 2 WvW Spring Tournament

Published:Apr 1. From:harriet 0
gw2

A graph was posted by a Redditor named CommentloafSurprise. He predicted the current outcomes of the top six North American servers based on their performances up until this date. This graph shows us a lot of what could already be predicted of this match. Is the tournament worthwhile for the Gold Leagues? How do you think? The most notable issue from the graph is that there is no competition for first place. Blackgate has forever dominated first place and will continue to do so with ease due to their sheer numbers at all times of the day. I don’t think anyone will claim to have the ability to displace them from that for this tournament either. So what makes it a fair match for anyone below them? It feels as if we’re just competing to solidify our positions that we have forever been fighting for. I know that ArenaNet claimed that this system will hopefully mix things up but does it really do anything but show sympathy to those in a lower tier and continue to glorify Blackgate for just being Blackgate? The thing that will surprise me the most is that Sea of Sorrows will come out in second place only because they fight at a level where they don’t have to go up against Blackgate too much. Tarnished Coast, because they are too skilled or too populated, will have to face the top two servers more often and seemingly gets punished for it. Ultimately this leads to Tarnished Coast being pushed down to the fifth ranking for that simple fact they were in the top three position too often.  You might be saying right now that these are just the top ranking servers and there is much more to look at here. You’re right to say that, too. The problem is it is much harder to predict the lower tiered North American servers and the European servers because they are more evenly matched games. They seem to have a better playing field that relies more on strategies and skill rather than constant presence and sheer numbers. These other servers have a more fair and even playing field that will make for a much more interesting tournament. ArenaNet plans to solve this problem before the next WvW Season. I think the only solution is if the players are dispersed more equally. It may force players to spread out more evenly in order to make a fairly equal playing field where skill prevails over numbers by removing Blackgate and a few of the lower tier servers

PvP Reward & Gear Receives New Changes

Published:Mar 31. From:harriet 0
gw2

ArenaNet has just announced to make changes on the PvP reward, gear, build-making and more in Guild Wars 2. Take a look at the official announcement below to get details. Hello again Tyria! There are a lot of great new changes happening in the Mists with rewards, gear, build-making, and more! It’s incredibly exciting to finally be able to share with you all of the updates and improvements the team has been working on! Gamewide Gear Unification As of April 15, there will no longer be PvP items in the game. The look you set for your weapons and armor in PvE and WvW will carry over into PvP. You can craft your look, develop your style, and take that with you wherever you go! The stats of your gear in PvE will continue to have no effect in PvP. You are simply carrying over your looks between game types; every player will still enjoy total statistical equality in PvP. So what happens to all those skins you have been collecting in PvP? Well, by now you’ve probably heard about the Wardrobe system, which allows you to collect skins from across the game. When you enter the Heart of The Mists for the first time after the April 2014 Feature Pack goes live, all of the skins you have collected in PvP will unlock in your Wardrobe. There will be a vendor selling basic, level-appropriate weapons and armor for you to apply unlocked skins to. You will be given a one-time allotment of Transmutation Charges based on your rank in PvP so you can restore or change your looks. You can learn more about the Wardrobe system and how it works in our feature announcement blog.  After your PvP skins have been unlocked, they will be removed from your PvP gear locker, and you will have account-wide access to them through the Wardrobe tab in your Hero Panel. As the Wardrobe replaces the gear locker, PvP crafting materials will be removed from the game, so be sure to craft anything you want before the April 15 update. Reward Tracks In our December PvP rewards blogpost, we hinted at a new system in PvP that will allow you to set your own reward goals to work toward. We’re happy to be able to share more details about the PvP Reward Tracks system now. A Reward Track is a set of rewards that you earn by playing PvP. Each track has rewards at certain intervals: some that you can earn in a just couple of matches, bigger rewards that you can earn in a play session, and a really sweet end prize that you can earn in a few play sessions. Examples of rewards you can look forward to include various levels of loot boxes, crafting materials, Transmutation Charges, weapons, armor, skill points and more. At regular intervals, you will earn Tomes of Knowledge that will allow you to level up and earn skill points for any of your characters. To kick off this new system, we are thrilled to introduce you to the Balthazar Carapace back item that can only be earned through its PvP Reward Track! This system will launch with several other tracks, and you can choose which one you want to progress. In addition to The Hounds of Balthazar, there is a Reward Track for each major region in Tyria, allowing players in PvP to earn drops from each corresponding region. There is also a rotating schedule of dungeon Reward Tracks that will allow you to play PvP to earn rewards from specific dungeons. Every two weeks, a different dungeon Reward Track will become available to players. These award weapons, armor, and dungeon tokens among other things. If you want to complete a specific dungeon Reward Track at your leisure, simply complete the story mode of that dungeon to unlock the PvP Reward Track permanently. Otherwise, you can wait for the Reward Track to come back up in the schedule and your progress on it will be saved. In addition, as new Living World and holiday content is released, associated Rewards Tracks will be available for the duration of those events. Once you have experienced and participated in the Living World content, you will unlock an associated Reward Track so you have the option to continue to receive relevant rewards in PvP. This will ensure that PvP is always a part of the bigger story that is unfolding in Tyria. Some Reward Tracks are one-shot, some are temporary, and many are repeatable, and they all make PvP much more rewarding than it has ever been. Through Reward Tracks, players who participate in PvP can fully enjoy the rewards in Guild Wars 2. Legendaries in PvP With Reward Tracks, we now have a platform for PvP players to earn the components they need for their legendaries. As mentioned above, dungeon tracks will have dungeon tokens. Other earnable components include skill points, Obsidian Shards, high-end crafting materials, and Mystic Clovers.  There are even chances to find precursors in chests you earn. In fact, with these items and the gold that you earn from PvP rewards, you’ll be able to play PvP to gather almost everything you need to craft a legendary! The Gifts of Battle and Exploration will still require Badges of Honor and map completion. As a side note, if ascended crafting is your thing, Empyreal Fragments, Bloodstone Dust and Dragonite Ore can also be found on Reward Tracks! As a reminder, for anyone eager to earn a legendary or precursor even faster, there’s no better way than by competing in the Legends of the Mists tournament that we are sponsoring with the awesome folks at Mistpedia. Top prize for this tournament includes your choice of legendary weapon! For more information, take a look at the Tournament of Legends announcement. PvP Build UI and Quick Launch Bar Even with Gear Unification, we still need to keep a few things separate from PvE in the interest of equal stats. To facilitate this, we will be introducing the PvP build panel. In PvP, you will still have a separate set of build components, including runes, sigils, amulets, and traits. All of these items can be selected and equipped directly from the PvP build panel. No longer will you need to speak to several NPCs and manage a set of PvP-only inventory items. Simply select and equip the appropriate items. To make it easier to make those selections, the PvP build panel includes search and filtering so you can find just the right item for the build that you want to make. Instead of applying a sigil to a weapon, your PvE weapon sigil will be preserved and in PvP you will apply the sigil to a slot that overrides your weapon sigil only in PvP. The same is true for your runes and stats. As before, you gain your stats through your amulet. One change made in the interest of streamlining the build-making process is that the jewel has been incorporated into amulets. With this release, we are adding new runes, sigils, amulets, and traits outside of the core set. The core set is always open and available to all PvP players. New runes, sigils and amulets can be unlocked for your account with gold; new traits can be unlocked for your character for gold and skill points. These items are purchased directly from the UI. If it’s locked, simply click on it to unlock it! The PvP build panel is very easily found from the new Quick Launch bar in PvP located at the top of the HUD. From this bar you can make your build and quickly enter matches in any of the Arena types. Your equipped weapons will be the same between PvP and PvE as part of keeping your looks consistent across game modes. Your skills will not be part of the Quick Launch bar, but they will continue to be separate as part of your PvP build. Skills continue to be easily adjusted from your skill bar. Rank Revisions After the PvP Rewards Roadmap blog was released, the community came out in overwhelming support of keeping ranks. Additionally, many of you asked us to rebalance rank gain to make achieving high-end ranks more feasible. For those of you who were planning on passing the challenge of attaining dragon rank down to the next generation of adventurers, we have some good news! On March 18, we upped the rank points players earn from matches. On April 15, all ranks over rank 39 will be rebalanced to be more attainable and consistent. For most players this will make attaining the rank of dragon a realistic goal and for a very small percentage of players, we’d like to congratulate you on becoming Tyria’s first group of dragons! Achievement Unification In the feature pack, we will be unifying daily and monthly achievements. With new systems like the Wardrobe, Gear Unification, and Reward Tracks coming online to help create a consistent experience across different areas of the game, we felt that having separate daily and monthly achievement categories was unnecessary and potentially confusing. The PvP and PvE daily and monthly achievements will be merged. There will be enough achievements that you will be able to complete your dailies and monthlies entirely in PvE, WvW, or PvP if you like – but you can also dabble in different game modes and complete your achievements by playing a mix of content. Because the feature pack comes halfway through the month, April’s monthly achievements will be a special case. Until April 15, the PvE and PvP monthly categories will be separate and require only two achievements for completion. After April 15, there will be a single unified set of monthlies and dailies, and monthly completion will again require four total achievements. There are a few other general changes to daily achievements. There will be a limit of 10,000 daily and 5,000 monthly achievement points, rotations have been updated, and several relevant achievements have been updated to function in PvP. Bringing the Game Together For PvP, this feature pack was about core rewards, bringing all parts of the game together, and streamlining some of the aspects of PvP that have been difficult for players. We’re excited to tie PvP more directly into the rewards structures found in other parts of the game, from dungeon and Living World rewards right up to the building blocks of ascended and legendary gear! Gear unification means that you can be you and the effort you put into any part of the game can be shown off wherever you go.  Reward Tracks give you control over rewards that truly matter to you and the new build interface will give you the tools you need for build experimentation. It’s easier than ever before to make and fine-tune new builds, which is part of creating an exciting and competitive environment for PvP in Guild Wars 2. Good Luck, Have Fun – and we’ll see you in the game!- John C.

ArenaNet has just brought the Guild Wars 2 fans a new ingredient, which will be a surprise for those who like playing dress-up in the MMOs. Yes, it's quite literally a wardrobe, an "account-wide system that allows players to collect every skin in the game."Says ArenaNet, "Currently, it can be a little overwhelming to try to sort through it all and customize your character exactly how you'd like to. Our answer to that is the Wardrobe, which makes it easy for players to change their look at any time and to share cosmetic items across all the characters on [their] account." In other words, a skin unlock for one character will work for alts too, and players will use transmutation charges to swap their looks as part of the new simplified transmutation system. The new feature has received a new dev blog, video, and gallery.
